Terri Cooper is the founder of Yoga Gangsters, a teacher, writer, activist and movement builder for social change. In 2003, she began volunteering as a yoga teacher in some of Miami’s marginalized communities. The work and connection was so compelling that she constantly felt drawn to do more. In 2008, she expanded her service into a community outreach program and began to train other yoga teachers to serve in this way. In just a few short years, Yoga Gangsters has touched the lives of more than 3000 people (mostly youth in crisis), has more than 265 trained volunteers and has raised more than $220,000 through grassroots community events. A board member and official Yoga Gangsters teacher for at-risk youth and foster children, Jodi Weiner, brings her 20+ years of project management experience with Fortune 500 companies into the private sector by serving as our Executive Project Manager and Interim Executive Director. In her position, Jodi helped to organize our 2012 Yoga Aid Challenge South Florida raising over $65,000 for our organization. She continues to assist with strategic goal setting with a focus on the national expansion and the expansion of curriculum as well as financial development to include grant application and private donor recruitment for our Mala Society. As of March 2013, Jodi is serving as Yoga Gangster’s Executive Director.

After over a year of serving as a Yoga Gangsters volunteer teacher serving both high school students and teen girls in drug rehab, Natalya is now our Programming Manager. Upon graduating from 305 Yoga’s 305U Teacher’s Training, Natalya coordinates all of our South Florida outreach programs and connects with graduates of our national Outreach Training tour. We are blessed to have Natalya on our team as she is an integral part of our national expansion.
